Ingredients

• Chocolate Sheet Cake (see recipe)
• 1 tsp almond extract
• 1 tsp cherry extract
• 1/4 cup cherry preserves
• 1 tbsp. maraschino liqueur or juice
• Frosting:
• Vanilla Frosting (see recipe)
• 1 tsp cherry extract
• Maraschino cherries and shaved chocolate, for topping

Directions

1. For the cake: Make Chocolate Sheet Cake, replacing the vanilla with almond and cherry extracts. Mix cherry preserves with maraschino liqueur or juice; brush over the warm cake.

2. For the frosting: Make Vanilla Frosting, adding cherry extract with the vanilla. Frost the cake and top with cherries and chocolate.
