Italian Sausage Pot Pies

Ingredients

  • 1 pound bulk Italian sausage or ground beef
  • 1 medium onion, chopped (1/2 cup)
  • 1 small green bell pepper, chooped (1/2 cup)
  • 1/2 cup sliced mushrooms
  • 1 can (8 ounces) pizza sauce
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese (4 ounces)
  • 1 cup Original Bisquick
  • 1/4 cup boiling water

Directions

  1. Heat oven to 375 de3grees.

  2. Grease four 10- to 12-ounce casseroles.

  3. Cook sausage, onion and bell pepper in 10-inch skillet over medium heat, stirring frequently, until sausage is no longer pink; drain. Stir in mushrooms and pizza sauce.

  4. Heat to boiling; reduce heat.

  5. Simmer uncovered 5 minutes, stirring occasionally.

  6. Spoon sausage mixture into casseroles.

  7. Sprinkle 1/4 cup of the cheese over each.

  8. Stir Bisquick and boiling water; beat vigorously 20 strokes.

  9. Place dough on surface sprinkled with Bisquick; gently roll in Bisquick to coat.

  10. Shape into ball; knead about 10 times or until smooth.

  11. Divide dogh into 4 balls.

  12. Pat each ball into circle the size of the diameter of the casseroles.

  13. Make cut in each circle with knife to vent steam.

  14. Place circles on sausage mixture in casseroles.

  15. Bake 15 to 20 minutes or until light golden brown.
