Ingredients

  • For Garlic Parmesan Breadsticks:
  • 3 tsp baking powder
  • 3/4 cup + 2 tbsp water
  • 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/8 tsp black pepper
  • Flour, for rolling
  • 1 plus 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 cup Parmesan, grated and divided
  • 2 tbsp butter, melted
  • 1/4 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tbsp canola oil
  • For Garlic Dipping Sauce:
  • 1 stick butter
  • 1/8 tsp salt
  • 2 tsp garlic powder

Directions

  1. Line a large baking sheet with foil and then lightly coat it with the cooking spray; set aside.

  2. eheat oven to 400.

  3. Combine flour with baking powder and salt in a medium sized mixing bowl; whisk until combine thoroughly and set aside. Combine oil and water in a cup or separate bowl; stir until well combined.

  4. Slowly transfer the water mixture into the flour mixture and gently stir and mix until dough forms a ball, using your hands or a large wooden spoon. Dough should not be sticky, it should be soft. If the dough seems to be too dry, feel free to add more water, as required. Add more flour, if too sticky.

  5. Lightly cover your work area with the flour and then sprinkle 1/4 cup of the grated Parmesan. Transfer the dough onto the lightly floured work area; kneading the dough for a couple minutes.

  6. Roll the dough out to a rectangle using a rolling pin; ensure that the long ends are rolled out to 12 inches. Top the dough with fresh black pepper and leftover grated Parmesan; pressing down the toppings and ensure that they stick to the dough.

  7. Cut 1" wide breadsticks using a pizza cutter and then transfer them to prepared baking sheet; bake until lightly browned on top, for 12 to 14 minutes. Meanwhile, combine garlic powder and salt in a small sized bowl.

  8. Remove the baked breadsticks from oven and immediately brush with the melted butter and then sprinkle with garlic powder mixture and salt. Set the breadsticks aside and keep them warm while you prepare the dipping sauce.

  9. For the Garlic Dipping Sauce:

  10. Over moderate heat in a large saucepan, melt butter. When melted completely, remove from heat and get rid of the foamy layer appearing on the top using a spoon; discard.

  11. Whisk in the garlic powder and salt. Transfer everything together to a large sized serving bowl. Serve with baked breadsticks and enjoy.
