Chocolate Shell Toppings

Ingredients

  • Basic Chocolate Shell Topping (see recipe)

Directions

  1. Strawberry Shell:

  2. Use white chocolate. Finely grind 1 cup freeze-fried strawberries in a food processor, then stir into the warm sauce. Strain through a fine-mesh sieve, then let cool.

  3. Mint Shell:

  4. Use bittersweet chocolate. Stir 1 1/2 tsp peppermint extract into the warm sauce; let cool.

  5. Confetti Shell:

  6. Use white chocolate. Let the sauce cool, then stir in 1/2 cup rainbow sprinkles.

  7. Banana Shell:

  8. Use white chocolate. Finely grind 1 cup freeze-dried bananas in a food processor, then stir into the warm sauce. Strain through a fine-mesh sieve, then let cool.

  9. Mocha Shell:

  10. Use semisweet chocolate. Stir 2 tsp instant espresso powder into the warm sauce. Stir in 1/2 cup chopped chocolate-covered espresso beans, then let cool.

  11. Peanut Butter Shell:

  12. Use milk chocolate. Stir 3 tbsp creamy peanut butter and 1/2 cup chopped salted roasted peanuts into the warm sauce; let cool.

  13. Raspberry Shell:

  14. Use semisweet chocolate. Finely grind 1 cup freeze-dried raspberries in a food processor, then stir into the warm sauce. Strain through a fine-mesh sieve, then let cool.
