Ingredients
- Sauce:
- 1 cup tomato sauce
- 1 1/2 tbsp barbecue sauce
- 1 tbsp sugar
- Meatloaf:
- 1 1/2 lbs. ground sirloin
- 6 tbsp all-purpose flour
- 3/4 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp onion powder
- 1/4 tsp black pepper
- 1 dash garlic powder
Directions
-
Preheat the oven to 400 and let the ground sirloin rest at room temp into a bowl.
-
Mix the sauce ingredients in a saucepan and bring to a simmer over medium heat. When the sauce is simmering, remove it from heat.
-
Set aside 2 tbsp of the sauce and pour the rest over the meat. Massage the sauce into the meat, marinating it well.
-
Add the rest of the meatloaf ingredients into the meat mixture and continue mixing and kneading until the spices are fully incorporated into the meat.
-
Place the meat into your loaf pan and cover with foil. Bake the meat mixture for 30 minutes.
-
Remove the pan from the oven and drain the fat before cutting the meatloaf into 8 equal portions.
-
Pour the set-aside sauce over the top of the meatloaf and return it to the oven for another 25-30 minutes.
-
Transfer the meatloaf to a plate and let cool before serving.
