Ingredients
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 1/2 onion, thinly sliced
- 1/2 green bell pepper, thinly sliced
- 26 oz. jar tomato-basil pasta sauce
- 12 frozen Make-Ahead Meatballs (see recipe)
- 1/2 cup water
- 16 oz. loaf French bread, cut into forths
- 8 oz. package shredded Mozzarella

In a large skillet, heat oil over medium heat. Add onion and bell pepper; cook, stirring frequently, for 5 minutes. Add pasta sauce, meatballs and 1/2 cup water; bring to a boil. Reduce heat, and simmer for 20 minutes.

Preheat oven to broil. Line a rimmed baking sheet with foil.

Split bread pieces lengthwise, being careful not to cut all the way through. Spoon 3 meatballs and sauce into each bread piece. Top with cheese. Place on prepared pan.

Broil until cheese is melted, about 2 minutes. Serve immediately.
