Ingredients
- 1 tbsp butter, softened
- 2 slices Italian bread
- 1 tbsp prepared basil pesto
- 1 slice provolone
- 2 thin slices tomato
- 1 slice American cheese
Directions

Heat a skillet over medium heat. Spread butter on 1 side of both bread slices.

Spread 1 1/2 tsp pesto on unbuttered side of 1 slice; transfer, buttered side down, to skillet. Top with provolone, tomato, and American cheese.

Spread remaining 1 1/2 tsp pesto on unbuttered side of second bread slice; transfer, pesto side down, to sandwich in skillet. Cook until golden, 3 to 4 minutes per side.
