Applebee’s Southwest Steak

Ingredients

  • 4 shakes blackened-steak seasoning
  • 2 beef steaks
  • Butter, as needed
  • 1 cup julienne-cut yellow onions
  • 1/2 cup julienne-cut red peppers
  • 1/2 cup julienne-cut green peppers
  • Salt, to taste
  • Pepper, to taste
  • Garlic powder, to taste
  • 2 slices Cheddar cheese
  • 2 slices Monterey Jack cheese

Directions

  1. Preheat the grill.

  2. Add the steak seasoning to both sides of the steaks.

  3. Grill steaks to desired doneness.

  4. Melt butter in a skillet over medium heat and saute the onion and peppers for 2-3 minutes. Season with salt, pepper and garlic.

  5. Reduce the heat and simmer until the steak is cooked.

  6. For final minute of steak cooking, top each steak with 1 slice of Cheddar and 1 slice of Monterey Jack.

  7. Plate the steaks with the onions and peppers.
