Ingredients
- 1 tbsp kosher salt
- 1 tbsp chopped fresh thyme
- 1 tbsp chopped fresh parsley
- 1 tbsp lemon zest
- 2 tsp black pepper
- 3 1/2 to 4 lb. whole chicken, giblets discarded
- 1 small onion, quartered
- 1 lemon, halved
- 2 sprigs fresh thyme
- 2 sprigs fresh parsley
- 2 tbsp canola oil
- Garnish: lemon, fresh thyme, fresh parsley
Directions

If preheating is recommended by your air fryer, preheat to 350.

In a small bowl, stir together salt, chopped thyme, chopped parsley, lemon zest and pepper.

Pat chicken dry with paper towels. Gently loosen skin from chicken, keeping skin intact. Rub salt mixture under skin. Place onion, lemon halves, and herb sprigs in chicken cavity. Tie legs together with butcher’s twine. Rub oil all over chicken. Place chicken in air fryer basket, breast side down.

t air fryer to 350. Cook for 30 minutes. Turn chicken breast side up, and cook until cooked through, about 30 minutes more. Let stand for 15 minutes before serving. Garnish with lemon and herbs.
