Ingredients
- 1/2 cup flour
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp pepper
- 2 Ibs beef stew meat, cut into pieces
- 6 cups hot water
- potatoes
- carrots
- 2 beef bouillon cubes
- 2 Tbsp shortening
Directions

Mix flour, salt and pepper

Coat meat with flour mixture

Melt shortening in large skillet, brown meat thoroughly

Heat water in dutch oven
-
Add meat and heat to boiling

Reduce heat, cover and simmer for 1 1/2 – 2 hours

Stir remaining ingredients and simmer for 30 minutes

To thicken, dissolve 2-3 tablespoons of corn starch in 1 cup cold water.

Stir in stew,heat to boiling. Boil and stir for 1 minute
