Ingredients
- 6 tbsp butter
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 2 large onions, halved and thinly sliced
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp black pepper
- 6 6-inch hoagie rolls, split and halved crosswise
- 12 oz. thinly sliced deli roast beef
- 6 oz. thinly sliced provolone
- 8 oz. tub chive-and-onion, garlic-and-herb, or plain cream cheese spread

In an extra-large skillet heat 2 tbsp of the butter and the olive oil over medium. Add onions, salt and pepper. Cook about 15 minutes or until very tender and starting to brown, stirring occasionally.

reheat oven to 350. Arrange roll bottoms in a 13×9-inch baking pan. Layer with roast beef, onions and cheese. Spread cut sides of roll tops with cream cheese. Add tops to sandwiches. Melt remaining 1/4 cup butter. Drizzle over rolls. Cover pan with foil.

Bake 15 minutes. Uncover; bake 10-15 minutes more or until cheese is melted and roll tops are light brown.
