Ingredients
- 1/2 c. shortening
- 1/8 tsp. salt
- 1 c. boiling water
- 1 c. shifted floor
- 4 eggs (unbeaten)
Directions
- Add shortening and salt to boiling water. and heat to boiling.
- Reduce heat. Add flour all at once. Stir vigorously until mixture forms ball around spoon, leaving pan clean. Remove from heat.
- Add 1 egg at a time heating very thoroughly after each addition.
- Continue heating until mixture is thick and shiny and breaks from spoon.
- Shape on ungreased cookie sheet, using 1 tbsp. of pastry for one puff based upon size.
- Bake 450 for 20 minutes.
- Reduce heat to 350, bake 20 minutes longer.
- Fill with anything – pie filling, whipped cream of pudding.
