Pound Cake

Ingredients

  • 2 c. cake flour
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 2 sticks of butter, room temperature
  • 1 1/2 c. sugar
  • 5 eggs, room temperature
  • 2 tsp. vanilla
  • Fresh lemon juice

Directions

  1. Sift flour and salt. Measure and sift again.
  2. Mix butter and sugar. Add vanilla and eggs one at a time, scraping down the sides.
  3. Bake at 325 degrees for 1 1/2 hours.
  4. Make holes in the top of the cake, and spoon lemon juice over the top.
