Ingredients
- 2 cups water
- 1/2 cup quick-cooking grits
- 1/2 tsp garlic powder
- 3/8 tsp salt
- Topping:
- 1 tbsp finely chopped parsley
- 1 1/2 oz. shredded sharp cheddar
- 1 medium jalapeno, seeded and finely chopped
- 1/4 cup diced tomatoes
Directions

Combine water, grits and garlic powder in a medium saucepan; bring to a boil over high heat. Reduce heat, cover and simmer 5 minutes or until thickened. Remove from heat and stir in salt. Top with parsley, cheddar, tomatoes and jalapeno.
