Simple Teriyaki Sauce
(from cokerlj’s recipe box)
I was making a stir fry when I realized I was out of Teriyaki Sauce…Google to the rescue…but I did my usual and added a few extra ingredients to make this sauce my own.

Ingredients
- 1 cup water
- 1/4 cup soy sauce
- 5 tablespoons packed brown sugar
- 1 tablespoon honey, more to taste
- 1/2 teaspoon ground ginger...grate some fresh ginger
- 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder...or a couple cloves pressed fresh garlic
- 2 tablespoons apple cider vinegar
- 1 tablespoon minced fresh parsley
- -
- Additional ingredients:
- 2 tablespoons cornstarch
- 1/4 cup cold water
Directions
-
Combine the 1 cup water and the remainder of the ingredients in the first list.
-
Cook for about 1-2 minutes…I put mine in the microwave.
-
Mix the cornstarch and the 1/4 cold water together in a cup; stir until dissolved. Add to the hot ingredients.
-
Cook and stir sauce until thickened, 5-7 minutes. Again, I just cooked in the microwave.
-
Pretty darn good substitute for store bought if you ask me!
