American Pancakes

Serves 3 people
Ingredients
- Wet
- 1 egg, lightly beaten
- 1.5 dl milk
- 2 tbsp butter , melted
- Dry
- 2.5 dl flour , at least 1/2 wheat flour
- 2 tsp baking powder , if necessary. less
- 0.5 tsp salt
- 2 tbsp sugar , if necessary. partly vanilla sugar
- For serving
- butter
- maple syrup
Directions

Whisk together flour salt, sugar & baking powder in a large bowl

Whisk the egg(s) in another bowl

whisk down milk and melted butter.

Add the wet ingredients to the dry ones. Mix with a fork, DO NOT whisk.

Fry in butter in a fairly hot frying pan. The batter is quite thick so you may have to take a spoon to help.

Fairly large pancakes are a matter of taste! 1 – 4 per frying pan – depending on what you want.

Heat until bubbles begin to form on top, turn and fry until golden brown underneath. If they are successful, they will be at least ½ cm thick.

Serve with a dollop of butter on top and soaked in maple syrup.
