Brown Butter Crumble

Ingredients

  • 4 tbsp salted butter
  • 1/2 cup light brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup flour
  • 4 tsp cornstarch
  • 1/4 tsp baking powder

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 350. Melt butter in a small saucepan over medium-low heat. Cook, stirring occasionally, until it smells nutty and the solids on the bottom of the pot are a light caramel color, 4 to 5 minutes. Remove from the heat and let cool. In the bowl of an electric mixer, combine the brown butter, light brown sugar, flour, cornstarch, and baking powder. Mix on low speed until mixture forms coarse crumbles. Lay out on parchment-lined baking sheet. Bake until golden, 12 to 15 minutes. Let cool, then transfer to an airtight container. Store at room temp for up to 2 weeks.
