Freezer French Toast

Ingredients

  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 cup milk
  • 2 tbsp. sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/4 tsp ground nutmeg
  • 10 slices day-old French bread
  • 1 to 2 tbsp. butter
  • Mixed fresh berries and confectioners' sugar

Directions

  1. In a large bowl, beat eggs, milk, sugar, vanilla and nutmeg. Place bread in a well-greased 13×9-inch baking dish. Pour egg mixture over bread. Let soak several minutes, turning once to coat. Freeze until firm. Transfer slices to airtight containers; return to freezer.

  2. Oven: Place frozen slices in a single layer on a well-greased baking sheet. Dot with butter. Bake at 450 for 7 minutes; turn and bake until golden brown, 10 to 12 minutes longer.

  3. Air Fryer: Place frozen slices in a single layer on greased tray in air-fryer basket. Cook at 375 for 7-8 minutes; turn and cook until golden brown, 6-7 minutes. Spread with butter.
