Ingredients
- 3/4 cup shallots, chopped
- Fresh thyme
- Butter
- 28 oz. can crushed tomatoes
- 1 1/2 cups water
- 1/2 cup heavy cream
- 3 tbsp. Basic Pesto (see recipe)
- Salt
Directions

Cook shallots and some fresh thyme in a pot with butter. Add crushed tomatoes, water and heavy cream; simmer 20 minutes. Puree, then stir in pesto. Season with salt.
