Homemade Granola

Ingredients

  • 1 lb. rolled oats
  • 1 cup shredded unsweetened coconut
  • Small handful of sesame seeds
  • Some bran or wheat germ
  • 1/2 cup nuts (such as slivered almonds, peanuts or pecans)
  • 1/2 cup safflower or olive oil
  • 1/2 cup sweetener (such as honey, maple syrup or agave)
  • 1/2 cup water
  • Dried fruit (such as raisins, dried cherries or cranberries)

Directions

  1. Combine oats, coconut, sesame seeds, and bran/wheat germ. Add nuts and toss. In another bowl, combine oil, sweetener, and water. Stir the liquid mixture into the oat mixture. Spread on baking sheets and bake at 250 for 1 1/2 hours. Toss with a handful of dried fruit. Let cool.
