Ingredients
- 1 lb. ground lamb
- 1/2 cup finely chopped onion
- 2 tbsp. coriander seeds, crushed
- 2 tbsp. plain yogurt
- 1 tbsp. lemon juice
- 2 garlic cloves, minced
- 2 Thai chiles, minced
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp turmeric
- 5 bamboo skewers, soaked in water 30 minutes
- 3 bell peppers, seeded and cut into 2-inch pieces
- 1/2 cup plain yogurt
- 2 green onions, chopped
Directions
-
Set oven rack about 6 inches from heat source. Preheat broiler to high. Coat broiler pan with cooking spray. (Or preheat an outdoor grill to medium-high heat, 375-450).
-
Using your hands, mix together lamb, onion, coriander seeds, 2 tbsp. yogurt, the lemon juice, garlic, chiles, salt and turmeric in a bowl until well combined. Roll mixture into 15 meatballs. Thread 3 meatballs onto each skewer, separating each with a piece of bell pepper. Arrange on prepared broiling pan.
-
Broil 5 minutes, then turn and continue broiling until no longer pink in the center, about 5 minutes more. (Or put on the rack of the preheated grill over direct heat. Grill, covered and turning halfway through, until no longer pink, grill 10 minutes.)
-
Stir together 1/2 cup yogurt and green onions; drizzle over kebabs.
