Ingredients
- 1/4 cup butter
- 1/2 cup chopped onion
- 1 1/2 tbsp. flour
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 3 1/4 cups milk
- 8 oz. macaroni
- 1 cup bite-size fresh broccoli florets
- 1 cup diced ham
- 1 1/2 cups shredded cheddar
- Toasted bread crumbs
Directions

Heat butter over medium heat in a large saucepan. Add onion and cook, stirring frequently, until softened and translucent, about 5 minutes. Stir in flour and salt. Cook, stirring constantly, 1 minute more.

Add milk and macaroni to saucepan and bring to a boil, stirring frequently. Reduce heat and simmer, covered, 3 minutes. Stir in broccoli and ham. Simmer, covered and stirring occasionally, until pasta is tender, about 8 minutes more.

Add shredded cheese, stirring until melted. Top with breadcrumbs.
