chocolate cherry ice cream

Ingredients

  • 3/4 lb sweet cherries chopped
  • 1/3 C sugar
  • 1/2 C brandy
  • 2 C cream
  • 1 C milk
  • 3/4 C semi sweet chocolate chunks
  • 2/3 C sugar
  • 1/4 t salt
  • 6 egg yolks

Directions

  1. chill cherries 12 hrs in sugar (1/3C) & brandy

  2. cook cream, milk, sugar & salt 4 to 6 min until bubbles form at edge of pan

  3. whisk 6 egg yolks + 1/3 C cream & combine with cream mixture

  4. cook on medium-low til bubbly around edge of pan

  5. cool about 2 hrs or until cold

  6. mix in freezer until done adding cherries and chocolate when mix is thick enough to keep them suspended
