Ingredients
- 2 t vanilla
- 1 C sugar
- 1/4 C water
- 1 1/2 C cream
- 1 C milk
- 8 egg yolks
Directions

on medium low heat boil sugar & water until deep amber-remove from heat

add cream (mix will bubble)

stir over low heat until all caramel dissolves

add milk-bring to simmer

whisk yolks in large bowl
-
gradually mix caramel mix into yolks

return custard to saucepan & stir over medium low heat until it thickens-do not boil
-
add vanilla
-
refrigerate
-
finish in ice cream maker
-
add chopped toffee when ice cream maker has ice cream fairly solid
