Shrimp Cocktail

Ingredients

  • 8 C Water
  • 1/2 C fine Sea Salt
  • 2 Tbsp Baking Soda
  • 3 lbs Shrimp

Directions

  1. Combine Water, Salt & Baking Soda in a large bowl & stir until dissolved (about 1 min 30 sec)

  2. Add Shrimp & Ice. Chill 1 hour

  3. Bring pot of salted water to boil (can add peppercorns, lemon juice, lemon wedges, etc.)

  4. Once water has reached a really good boil, remove from heat & add Shrimp.

  5. Put lid on pot & let cook 4-7 minutes.

  6. Done when Shrimp turn pink.

  7. While Shrimp are cooking, fill a large bowl with cold water & a lot of ice.

  8. Once Shrimp are cooked, remove them from the hot water & put in ice water.
