Ingredients
- 2 3/4 C unbleached flour
- 1/3 C granulated sugar
- 3/4 t salt
- 1 Tablespoon baking powder
- 8 T unsalted COLD butter
- Dried fruit, ginger etc- nuts
- 2 large eggs
- 2 t vanilla extract
- 1/2-2/3 C half and half
- TOPPING
- 2 t mmil2 T coarse sugar, or cinnamon sugar
Directions

whisk together dry ingredients

Work in butter until crumbly

Stir in dried fruit, etc

In separate bowl whisk together eggs, vanilla, half and half

Add liquids to dry ingredients

Mix together with large with large spoon

Line baking sheet with parchment

Divide dough into half and make each 5 inch circle or 6 inch with add in fruit, etc

Circles should be 3/4 inch thick

Brush each circle with milk and sprinkle with course sugar

Place pan in freezer for 30 minutes

Preheat oven to 425 with rack in the upper third
-
Bake 18-23 minutes until light brown

FREEZE UNBAKED SCONES
- IN FREEZER AND THEN INTO PLASTIC BAG.- MIGHT TAKE A COUUPLE MINUTES MORER bAKE AS DIRECTED WITHOUT THAWING

350 OVEN ABOUT 10 MINUTES
