strawberry shortcake biscuit

Ingredients

  • heat oven to 425 degrees
  • Hull and slice strawberries and add sugar and put in refrigerator to macerate
  • 1 2/3 C flour plus 1/3 flour for board to form
  • 3 T sugar
  • 1 t baking powder
  • 1/2 t baking soda
  • 1/4 t salt
  • 6 T ice cold butter-mix in with hands
  • 1/2 C sour creme-mix in with hands
  • 1/4 C plus what need for dough to begin form and pull away from side of bowl-mix with hands

Directions

  1. put remaining 1/3 C flour on board and pat dough out to 1 1/2 inch thick

  2. makes 6 biscuits- with 3 inch cutter

  3. put in ungreased aluminum pan

  4. bake 15 or so minutes til brown on top

  5. if want can sprinkle regular sugar on top when warm

  6. Let cool 5-10 minutes before cutting

  7. Whip cream on top of shortcake and berries
