Moose Farts

(from gabjos’s recipe box)

Ingredients

  • 1 can sweetened condensed milk (300 ml in Canada, 14 oz in the US)
  • 1/4 cup melted butter
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 1/2 cups dried coconut (fine or medium cut)
  • 1 1/2 cups graham cracker crumbs, plus extra for rolling
  • 1 1/2 cups chocolate chips

Directions

  1. Mix Wet Ingredients:

  2. In a large bowl, thoroughly combine the melted butter, sweetened condensed milk, and vanilla extract.

  3. Add Dry Ingredients:

  4. Stir in the graham cracker crumbs, dried coconut, and chocolate chips until the mixture is well combined.

  5. Chill:

  6. Refrigerate the mixture for about an hour to firm up, which will make it easier to roll into balls.

  7. Form Cookie Balls:

  8. Scoop and roll the mixture into 1 1/4-inch balls. Keep them on the small side, as they are quite rich.

  9. Coat with Crumbs:

  10. Roll the formed balls in additional graham cracker crumbs to coat them evenly.

  11. Final Chill:

  12. Place the coated balls on a baking sheet and chill in the refrigerator until firm.

  13. Store:

  14. Keep the Moose Farts in a sealed container in the refrigerator. They can be stored this way for up to a week.

  15. Servings:

  16. Makes about 40 cookie balls.

  17. Tips:

  18. Serving Suggestion: Serve these treats chilled for the best texture and flavor.

  19. Variations: For a nuttier flavor, consider adding finely chopped pecans or walnuts to the mixture.
