Oven Baked Pork Chops

Cook time: 20 minutes
Serves 4 people

Ingredients

  • 1/2 tsp Salt
  • 1/4 tsp Pepper
  • 1/2 tsp Paprika
  • 1 tsp Garlic Powder
  • 4 Pork Chops (1/2 - 1" thick, 6-8 oz. each)
  • Avocado Oil Spray

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 400’

  2. In small bowl, mix seasonings together & rub on both sides of chops

  3. When oven reaches 400’, heat a large, oven-safe, heavy bottomed skillet (cast iron) over high heat for 3 minutes.

  4. Spray w/ cooking spray & sear the chops for 2 minutes/side without moving them until well browned. If skillet gets too hot, reduce heat to medium-high.

  5. You can also sear the fat strip briefly for about 30 seconds.

  6. If chops are 3/4" to 1" thick, put in oven & bake to internal temp of 145’. (10 minutes).

  7. Transfer to platter, tent w/ foil & allow to rest for 5 minutes.
