Southwestern Backyard Burgers
(from tnhoneypot21’s recipe box)
From Peg:
These burgers are WONDERFUL!! We made these on the grill last night and I don’t know if I can ever eat a plain hamburger again!! I used the hot bulk sausage because we like stuff spicy, but you can just use the mild if desired…These burgers are nice and juicy with just a kick of spice!

This was is my new Taste of Home magazine…I would definitely use 2 slices of cheese instead of one per burger called for in original recipe. Also would serve with the variety of condiments, they only gave lettuce as an option.

TARA’S NOTES: YUMMY!!!! Well worth the added carbs.. Didn’t have chilies so used 10 green olives, couldn’t tell they was in there. Also used 3-4 T. chili powder to reduce heat for kids but used Hot Sausage. Used a little less cumin, but not much.
