Ingredients
- 1 quart strawberries, sliced
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1 box (4-serving) strawberry flavor gelatin
- 2 boxes (4-serving) instant vanilla pudding
- 3 cups cold milk
- 1 cup sour cream
- 1 container (16-ounce) frozen whipped topping, defrosted
- 1 package (2.75-ounce) strawberry or vanilla sugar wafers or about 30 vanilla wafers
Directions
-
Place half the strawberries in a layer in a skillet, sprinkle with sugar and gelatin powder and heat over a medium heat, stirring constantly, for about 3 minutes, until gelatin and sugar dissolve. Remove from heat and mix with remaining strawberries. Set aside to cool.
-
Beat the pudding mix with the milk for 5 minutes, until very thick. Beat in the sour cream, then about three-fourths of the whipped topping.
-
Distribute the wafers evenly over the bottom of a 9-by-13-inch pan. Add the pudding in a layer, then the strawberries, and top with the remaining whipped topping. Refrigerate at least 2 hours before serving.
