Ingredients
- 1 1/2 pounds fresh asparagus, trimmed
- 2 teaspoons olive or canola oil
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/8 teaspoon white pepper
- 3 tablespoons balsamic vinegar
Directions
-
Place the asparagus in a 13-in. × 9-in. × 2-in. baking dish. Sprinkle with oil, salt and pepper; toss to coat. Bake, uncovered, at 425 degrees F for 10-15 minutes or until lightly browned. Drizzle with vinegar just before serving.

OR: drizzle the asparagus with a balsamic reduction. An easy recipe: bring 2 cups of balsamic vinegar to a boil and continue to boil until it reduces down to about a half cup (should be syrupy in consistency). It really helps to concentrate the balsamic flavor and looks pretty on the plate (just use a drizzle though or else you could overwhelm the flavor of the asparagus).
