Candied Sweet Potatoes

Ingredients

  • 4 to 6 sweet potatoes
  • 1/2 cup granulated brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2 Tablespoons butter
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/8 teaspoon nutmeg

Directions

  1. t oven to 350.

  2. Parboil potatoes for 15 minutes, peel and slice them. Place in a buttered or oiled 1 1/2 quart baking dish.

  3. Make a syrup by combining sugar, honey, salt, butter, water and spices and boiling for 3 minutes. Pour syrup over potatoes.

  4. Bake for 1 1/4 hours, basting frequently.
