Marinara Sauce

Ingredients

  • 1 garlic clove, minced
  • 1/2 cup chopped onions
  • 2 Tablespoons olive oil
  • 4 cups canned Italian tomatoes
  • 1/2 cup chopped parsley
  • 4 whole basil leaves, or 1 teaspoon dried
  • 1/2 teaspoon oregano
  • salt and freshly ground pepper to taste

Directions

  1. Cook garlic and onions in the oil until golden brown.

  2. Combine all other ingredients and simmer, uncovered, until thickened, about 1 1/4 hours.
