Raw Banana Porichathu ( Raw Banana Fry )

Ingredients
- • Raw bananas 4 medium
- • Turmeric powder 1/2 teaspoon
- • Oil 4 tablespoons + for deep-frying
- • Red chilli powder 1 tablespoon
- • Coriander powder 1 tablespoon
- • Ginger-garlic paste 1 teaspoon
- • Salt to taste
- • Curry leaves,finely chopped 6-8
- • Rice flour 1/2 cup

Peel off just a thin layer of the banana skins and slice them lengthways into one-fourth inch thick slices.

Soak them in water to avoid discolouration. Drain and place in a glass bowl, add quarter teaspoon turmeric powder and cook in the microwave on 100% for two minutes.

Drain. Combine together four tablespoons oil, red chilli powder, remaining turmeric powder, coriander powder and ginger-garlic paste in a bowl.

Add salt, curry leaves and mix. Add the rice flour and mix well. Apply this masala to either side of the banana slices.
- Heat sufficient oil in a non stick pan and place the banana slices in a single layer and shallow fry, turning sides, till golden and crisp on both sides.

Drain on absorbent paper and serve hot.
