Ingredients
- 32 pods fresh okra
- 2 tsp cumin
- 1 tsp pepper
- 1 tsp sea salt (optional)
- 4 tbsp water, divided
- Cooking Spray
- Optional seasonings of your choice (garlic powder, chili powder, fajita seasoning, etc.)
- Optional fresh squeezed lime juice (add after first splash of water)
Directions

Wash and dry the okra.

Spray a nonstick skillet or saute’ pan with cooking spray. Heat the pan on high heat.

Add the okra in a single layer and splash the pan with about 2 tbsp of water.

Without moving the okra, cook until the pods begin to turn a bright green.

Turn them over, and splash the pan with the remaining water.

After the water has evaporated, sprinkle with the cumin and black pepper.

Continue cooking, shaking the pan every few minutes, until the okra starts to char or spot.

Remove from heat, and sprinkle with salt before serving.
