Rice Kheer

Ingredients

  • 2litres Milk
  • 4 tbsp Sugar
  • 3 – 4 tsp Rice
  • Few strands of Saffron soaked in 1tbsp Milk
  • Some Raisins, Sliced Almonds, Chopped Cashew nuts

Directions

  1. Method:

  2. Wash Rice, and let it dry. Heat Milk in a thick-bottomed pan. Simmer until it is reduced to three-fourths its original volume. Add washed Rice and cook, stirring continuously, until the Rice is cooked. Add Sugar and Saffron milk mix well and cook for 2 to 3 minutes. Remove and add the Nuts and Raisins and mix well. Serve either hot or cold.

  4. Serve hot Kheer with Vanilla Ice Cream.
