Miracle Protein Shake

My naturopath gave me this recipe when I asked for a dry skin remedy. Before long my hands were soft again. I’ve also noticed an overall improvement in my hair and skin since I started drinking this for breakfast every day.

Serves 1 people
Ingredients
- Protein Powder:
- 1 cup soya protein powder
- 1 cup non-instant skim milk powder
- 1 cup nutritional yeast
- 1 cup wheat germ
- Mix the above 4 ingredients together and store in the fridge.
- Drink:
- 1 cup apple juice or 1/2 cup apple juice and 1/2 cup grape juice
- 1/2 - 1 cup yogurt (source of protein and intestinal bacteria)
- 1/2 - 3/4 cup frozen blueberries (for antioxidants)
- 1 small banana (flavour & potassium)
- 1-2 tbsp flax seed oil or 1tbsp flax seed oil and 1 tbsp safflower oil (for essential fatty acids)
- 1/4 - 1/2 cup of above protein powder

Place all drink ingredients in blender and mix throughoughly.

If extra protein is required, add 1 cup whey powder to above protein powder. An egg can also be added for additional protein.
