Basic Kefir

Basic ingredient for use in many probiotic recipes

Serves 1 people
Ingredients
- 1 T. kefir grains
- 1 cup raw or semipasturiezed milk
Directions

Place grains in a glass jar can be securely sealed.

Add 1 tablespoon to 1 cup of milk.

Securely seal the jar.

Leave the jar on your kitchen counter, out of direct sunlight, or in a cabinet at room temperature for 24 hours.

After 24 hours, remove the kefir grains using a slotted spoon or a mesh strainer.

Add the kefir grains to another cup of fresh milk to begin another fermentation or for storage.

Transfer the strained kefir to your refrigerator.
