I very rarely have buttermilk on hand. The following can be substituted for sour milk or buttermilk in recipes.
Add 1 tbsp white vinegar to 1 cup milk. Stir and let sit 2 min.
It’ll curdle a bit, make sure to stir it.
- buttermilk
- baking soda
6-12 Muffins
- plain low-fat yogurt
- golden raisins
- turbinado sugar or granulated sugar
365 calories a serving
- eggs
- milk or half and half
- bacon
- shredded Cheddar Cheese
- salt and pepper to taste
- parmesan cheese
Delicious and filling. I like to alternate this one with “Ancient Grain Raisin Cereal.”
- toasted cereal mix
- spelt
- millet
- wheat berries
This is my favorite morning cereal. If you already have the toasted mix in your pantry, it cooks up in under 15 minutes. You can substitute steel-cut oats for whole, but don’t use rolled oats. Pearled barley will also work, but it’s not as nutritious as hulled.
- whole oats
- polenta
- amaranth
- toasted cereal mix
- hulled barley
- millet
Do not put more than two servings of eggs in one pan, or the eggs will become overcooked. If you’re cooking for a crowd, double the recipe and make batches.
- cream
Decadent.
- diced apple
- vanilla
- soymilk
- salt
- sugar
- WW pastry flour
- Vanilla ice cream
never tried but i love the ones they have at the bakery
- Grated zest of 2 oranges
- old-fashioned oats
- kosher salt
- baking soda
- baking powder

- whole wheat flour
- all-purpose flour
- dried tart cherries
- buttermilk
- heavy or whipping cream
- sliced almonds
- vegetable oil
- good honey
- small diced dried apricots
- small diced dried figs
- dried cherries
- dried cranberries
- sweetened shredded coconut
- old-fashioned rolled oats
