This recipe came from my father’s side of the family…also from Czechoslovakia. It is more of a stew/soup rather than a thick “goulash”.
- water as needed
- cabbage cubed
- potatoes cubed
- carrots sliced on diagonal
- chili powder
- Paprika.
- marjoram
- large onion chopped
- celery sliced on diagonal
- bacon grease
If I can not get dill I will use a teaspoon caraway seed and boil with sauerkraut before adding rough.

My Grandmother brought this over from Czechoslovakia in the 1800’s. It is actually quite good on leaf type lettuce.

Mother always made this cobbler. It is really yummy, but the ingredients as listed are just estimates…it is one of those things you just sort of have to do by figuring out how many peaches you are using and add more cream and sugar if necessary.
