I took the original recipe and combined it with another I had. It turned out amazing!
WHY THIS RECIPE WORKS:
To re-create this state fair favorite at home, we made a light batter with flour, cornmeal, buttermilk, and eggs. Coating the skewered hot dogs in flour before batter-dipping ensures the batter adheres to the hot dogs. To make coating the hot dogs easy, we transfer the batter to a tall drinking glass for even, hassle free dunking.

- baking soda
- sugar ...more if you like sweeter batter

Use this on Eileen’s Scones recipe in this book. It is so good, I would like to figure out what else to use it on!
- - 2 tablespoons granulated white sugar
- pure vanilla extract
- heavy whipping cream

Eileen made these for Cate’s Tea Party…I loved them. Scones by nature are dry to me, but with a nice Lemon Curd or blackberry jam (from the store) or the Clotted Cream she made (recipe in this book) they are amazing!
