More authentic ;). Easy to double, or if you don’t want it quite as spicy, just do 2 lbs red beans (NOT Kidney Beans) and leave the rest as is.

I have made this with different cheeses: Sharp Cheddar, Gouda, Parmesan. Try what you like! These are delicious with soups. Also, easy to cut this in half for 2-4 people, but you can freeze leftovers.

Great base, just mix and match fruit and spices. You can easily double the recipe, but don’t double the crust -change up to 1/3C. It makes plenty.

This cookbook (copyright 1973 -there are some weird recipes in it!) was given to me the Christmas of 1981 by my mom. This is one of the best recipes in it. My family BEGS for it! I do usually make a recipe and a half or double this. What is written here is straight from the book.
