Great for camping dish. Just bake potatoes ahead, and wrap in foil to take along and finish on the camp fire in your iron skillet.

Made these with just the onion soup powder, salt, water and bacon grease…did not add extra onion and did not use the bacon. We did use the cheese and sour cream as a topping for serving. They were excellent.
Used the left overs for our breakfast tacos the next morning!

This recipe will serve about 6 hungry people and can easily be doubled in a large dutch oven. I like to pre-cook my sausage at home and freeze, thawing before use.
